And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool; but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole...John 5:5-9
The man lived with a condition for 38 years. 38 years of trying to be healed and to believe in healing but never be healed. The man had a plan. He wanted to step down into the water for his healing but someone always beat him to it. His plan was dependent on his performance. He thought he had to save his own life cause no man was willing to help him receive his healing. Jesus asked the man "Will you be made whole?
What kind of question is that? Of course I want to be whole. That is why I am here. That is what I have wanted for 38 years. Who is this man that ask me such a question? Maybe if I share my plan he will help me get into the water. The man shares his plan with Jesus and Jesus says Rise, take up thy bed and walk and immediately he was whole.
Jesus did not care about the man's plan. Jesus focus was on the man's willingness to be healed. By receiving His words the man rose above his circumstances. The man focused on his circumstance and how he could get out that he did not include God in his plans. The impotent man was looking for a man to help him ignorant to the presence of God in front of him. God was waiting for him to be willing to receive His plan.
Do you want to be made whole? Rise from your former way of thinking and lose yourself in the presence of God. You are healed, when you are willing to receive His healing.
Until next time...
